FIRST A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE GROWTH OF MY RACING PATH/PASSION
RC Cars
Where it all started ! Rc Cars were a massive part of my stages of getting into racing, I Started off with little scale RC Cars until one of my old friend showed me his FTX Outlaw. For anyone who doesn’t know there are two main types of RC Cars, you have ‘Hobby Grade’ and ‘Toy Grade’. Hobby Grade meaning it can be taken totally apart and any broken parts can be replaced. On the other hand you have Toy Grade RC Cars which are basically just for fun and if they break you throw them away and buy a new one. One main difference is the price, with a toy grade rc car being around 10-40 pound and a Hobby Grade being anywhere from £100 to £2000 obviously there is a lot of different price ranges in the middle of this personally i decided to go with the FTX Brushless OUTLAW as a ready to run kit all in all it cost me around £250 and then further went on buying upgrades for it all the time and id say by the end of it all id spent a good £500. Racing RC Car was always a great way to get outdoors and pursue my passion for anything with wheels and a motor. What i would recommend to anyone who is wanting to start with with RC Cars be prepared to have to take your entire RC Car apart and be able to work the mechanics of the whole car. Sim Racing
After I had owned my RC Car for a little while I eventually was gifted a Sim racing wheel, and I immediately fell in love with the feeling of driving. It may sound silly to you, but to me as a kid it was driving, and I’ve never done it before. After a little while I started getting into more serious games like simulators , Eventually racing for teams and leagues on games like Assetto corsa and F1 22/23 designing my own cars and I was having so much fun. I developed a massive passion for sim racing.
indoor Rental karting
My first real experience of motorsport and completive motorsport was at a place called Teamsport Sheffield. It all started in 2021 when i was gifted a voucher for 2 to go racing. I took my best friend and we went down to Teamsport Sheffield for a arrive and drive 2 15 minute session. This at 15 would have been my first real experience of driving anything at all. When the race marshals instructed us all to go and sit down there were so many emotions flowing through my head mostly excitement and nerves. However i took it in my stride and like always i tried my best and coming off track i absolutely loved it. After this i was hooked. Like a drug motorsport became addictive i kept going. Time after time i loved going eventually buying my own racing suit and helmet with no regrets. Around march 2023 i started taking indoor rental karting more serious competing in the likes of BIKC & Competitive races. Around come September 2023 I Started going to Teamsport 2 to 3 times a week getting quicker and quicker and eventually being one of the regular members of Teamsport Sheffield. I Got so far eventually winning trophies and winning members events. I got to a point of confidence in my own skill that i felt like i could achieve further and higher so in October/November of 2023 i started outdoor rental karting with the group of regular members from Teamsport Sheffield.
Rental outdoor karting
In October 2023 i went to Daytona Milton Keynes which in my personal opinion has to be one of the best outdoor rental track in the UK. The facilities are great, the track is amazing and challenging and the karts are equally as good. the staff were amazing and helpful as my first time every outdoor racing it started to rain meaning we were going out on to a wet track. I Really enjoyed it even sliding about i found the challenge fun again. I felt there was a real challenge something to work for. Unfortunately i had lost this feeling at Teamsport with going so much in a short space of time. So in October i decided to start researching on getting into “owner driving” meaning you own your own go kart and you arrive to tracks and drive your own kart around there track. This is a massive step up in motorsport with most outdoor karting championships being on a professional level.
